Christa, This One’s for You and the Challenger Crew
The day the world stopped awhile, we all can remember when.
A special part of us had died, when seven had met their end.
God took seven souls from Earth and gave them a home above.
He took away their fear and pain, and gave them His undying love.
Angel wings he placed on each, as they walked through the Pearly Gates.
He’ll keep them in His home above, until that final date.
Seven souls He took from us, and seven souls He blessed.
Seven souls are in His love, and seven souls do rest.
Seven seems to hold the key as told by Holy men.
A righteous man falls seven times, he rises up again.
Seven priests with seven trumpets marched around the town.
The seventh time on the seventh day, the walls came tumbling down.
A seventh day and a seventh year, seventy times seven.
Seven seals and seven churches, and seven angels from heaven.
Seven plagues, seven stars, and seven candlesticks.
God rested on the seventh day, and created the world in six.
Seven may mean complete and whole, as written in the Book.
But seven means much more to some, when in their hearts they look.
America’s Heroes they’ve come to be. The first teacher up in space.
Your hopes, your dreams, your aspiration. That smile upon your face.
Flowers will bloom upon the Earth, and flowers will fade away.
But seven souls went up to god, the world still recalls that day.
A special prayer I say to God, in all the things You do.
Please keep them safe in your arms, Christa and the Challenger Crew.
In loving memory of Christa and the Challenger Crew.
May we all, as teachers, live by her motto:
“I touch the future, I teach.”
