September 11

image

You could hear the screams
as the planes hit the towers
on that dreadful day.

Loved ones were lost
firefighters paid the cost tragic.
risking their lives for you and me

The fire was unbearable
one thought went through their heads
should they burn or should they jump
the tragic choice was theirs to make.

Seeing what happened was terrible
knowing there was nothing we could do
to take back the actions that happened that morning.

We could grieve or be angry
but nothing can change
what happened that day.
